Community Projects

The community projects show how artists and their work can go deeper into the community to address local needs they are passionate about, while widening the reach and impact of their overall practice.

The activities reach diverse groups, including youth, women and the wider community,

creating opportunities for skills development, awareness raising, collective action and

demonstrating the power of art and community-driven initiatives to address social,

cultural and environmental challenges.

Together, the projects nurture skills and creativity, spark meaningful conversations,

strengthen community bonds and offer sustainable pathways for growth, contributing to

a shared vision of empowering people to confront urgent challenges and imagine better

futures for themselves and their communities.

Peter Kongor, Scooby, and Juma Philip used art,

music and storytelling to make climate education visually compelling and emotionally

resonant. Three murals and one song were created to highlight the urgent realities of

climate change. These works now serve as a reminder of the challenges the community

faces and may face in the future, while sparking meaningful conversations

about the environment.
