Turkana Sessions

Turkana Sessions's Image
Drawing from Turkana musical traditions and reworking them through contemporary sounds, the band creates a sound that feels both ancestral and of the moment.. Traditional instruments and  call-and-response vocals  meet modern arrangements, giving their music the texture of desert winds carrying new ideas across old pathways.

Beyond the music, Turkana Sessions is a cultural conversation. The band uses its platform to celebrate Turkana identity, amplify community narratives and challenge narrow representations of pastoralist cultures. Their work honors heritage without freezing it in time, presenting tradition as something alive, adaptable, and proudly forward-looking. Whether on stage or in community settings, Turkana Sessions stands as a testament to music’s power to connect generations, spark dialogue, and carry local stories to global stages.
