Our Piece of Earth

   Play Trailer

Uganda is endowed with abundant natural resources including gold, marble, limestone and East Africa’s largest oil reserves. The country also has incredible biodiversity in its forests, parks and reserves. These resources are often found near or around marginalized communities – making them vulnerable to loss of land, loss of livelihoods and other injustices.

Through the experience of the Rwamutonga Community in Western Uganda, this film shows the issues on the ground, the threats to communities and how civil society organizations are responding to those threats in order to contribute to the higher goal of communities “holding ground” and “gaining ground” in extractives.
